Quarter 3 Proud Project – Côte d’Ivoire

During my French class in quarter 3 I had to construct a PowerPoint about a French speaking country, which brought into being my project on Côte d’Ivoire, or Ivory Coast. My PowerPoint has 5 different slides about geography, history, celebrations, foods, and a proverb from Ivory Coast. I’m proud of this project more than my other ones last quarter because of how well it turned out. I loved the look of every slide, and even learned new vocabulary in the making of it. Overall this project was great to create and is a ten out of ten for me.

Break The Fake Part 2!

I found an article about one of the most famous musicians of all time, Elton John. The article claims he is a piano genius, and how he’s one of the top three ranking artists. The article contains many videos and fun facts to try to back up their claims, but are they exaggerating?

To start off verifying the information, I looked for sources but couldn’t find any. Instead I went to their company details page.

This seemed fine, but this could be faked or copied, so I looked at some Google search results for their company and website to find out more.

There was many positive results and things seemed very much real and reliable.

All of the things I found from this company were reliable and realistic. The article itself seemed to be backed up and made properly instead of being faked or plagiarized. Overall I’m convinced that this article is completely honest and has no misinformation, so yes it is TRUE.

Quarter 2 Proud Project – Electronics Nerve Tester

During quarter two I spent a lot of my time working on a project in electronics called the “Nerve Tester”. It took me much longer than expected by myself and my teacher, and I had to trouble shoot it countless times. The project is supposed to give you a small shock or turn on a light when activated, mine only did one of those. The reason I’m proud of this project is because I completed it in the end and learned tons of information about electronics while working on it. If I had succeeded on my first try I wouldn’t have learned nearly as much as I did after all those troubleshoots, so that’s why I’m so proud of it.

Information Fluency Topic – Piano

I chose the piano for this assignment because of its musicality, the fact I have one, the pieces you can perform on it, and many more reasons. but among these is the impact piano has had on me, and that’s why I’m writing about it to you today. I may be slightly biased here, but I believe piano is an underestimated instrument for the level of prowess and effort it takes to transform your notes into something from majestic to sorrowful. In my notes many esteemed pianists state these same points about how the true potential of this instrument is somewhat undiscovered to those who haven’t experimented with it. When I was in grade six I began to learn the piano, my instructor a kind but encouraging woman named Karen helped me to start learning. I didn’t understand much about piano at the time but I stuck with it, and it’s a good thing I did because a few years later I’ve learned so much more. Piano is an immersive instrument with tons of skills and pieces to accomplish and learn like the 1812 Overture, or Liebestraum. There is thousands upon thousands of pieces of varying skill degrees for everyone to learn, and I’ve barely started to explore some of them. Overall piano has been an important part of my life, and that’s why it’s my topic.

My Math 9 Brochure Project

During Q1, I made brochures about exponents and rational numbers for a project. These brochures explained the rules and classifications of both rational numbers and exponents. I’m proud of this project because I put all my effort into them to get the best results. I’m mostly proud not of my final result, but of the challenges I solved along the way, creating the brochures; this is because I had to overcome many difficult problems, like aligning and putting together the printed brochures. But my work paid off, as in the end I had created two visually pleasing brochures, and a great mark.

My Guidelines For Appropriate Comments

Hello! I’m happy you made it to my blog, while you’re here please note the following guidelines if you do plan on writing a comment to keep this place friendly and safe for everyone.

Stick to the truth and use facts!

When building your comment, making assumptions or guesses about information isn’t helpful and might confuse people. So always make sure to go off facts and the truth to enforce trust and a positive environment.

Stay kind.

Nobody wants to invite rudeness, if you’re going to say something, don’t target other people with insults. Of course constructive criticisms are more than welcome to me, as I see them as new ideas to improve myself, or the things I do.

Think twice!

Before you finish up a shiny new comment, read back over it before posting while questioning if you and others will approve of it. If not, then it’s probably best that you don’t share it, even if it’s really witty or cool.

Form and grammar.

Even though this isn’t an essay or speech, proper grammar is a luxury when trying to read through chunks of text. So please keep things just a bit organized to impede the influence of confusion, and to help everyone out.

An appropriate comment for my guidelines would be: “That’s a neat quote in your blog, thanks for sharing it, and where did you find it? My favorite quote is do today’s duty, fight today’s temptation.”
