Break the Fake 2 – Article talks about how the pandemic changed to foods Americans crave

  1. This article I found from the CNBC explains what foods the pandemic caused Americans to want and crave more of. This article ties to cooking in a pandemic with these craving driven by the source. It covers topics from spice in food, to wellness beverages, to what products brands are releasing. It says how PepsiCo released a drink (Drinkwell) that aids sleep, which is aimed at American during a pandemic-age,  a fact I’m going to verify.

2. To verify the author, her Twitter account was attached to the article, so I went to her account. She has the blue checkmark proving she’s a real person, so I know the author’s reliable. It helps start to prove as well the website itself is reputable.

3. Unfortunately, there was no article on slopes.com with bit.ly/fact-search that verified the fact/article, so I used the other ways and resources to check my source.

4. To check the website itself, I went to look up it’s page on Wikipedia, and found out that it’s a news channel that focus on local and global markets, as well as consumer news and business. I knew that I could trust what the website, article, and author was claiming.

5. To further verify if the claims that Pepsi released a drink to aid sleep, I did a google search and included the work “fake” at the end of my search. There wasn’t too much information, so I continued with alternative ways to verify the source.

6. To further verify, I looked up the fact in a google search and went to the “news” tab. I found that any article mentioning the new drink was either the one I previously found, and ones from CNN, The Takeout and fox8.

7. Finally, I did a wikipedia search on CNN, to see if their article would help prove the fact. It is a reliable source, with CNBC and their article’s author, so Pepsi did, in fact, release a drink to aid sleep. (The fact is true).
