poachers (information fluency)

Poaching is a very big and unsolved problem all around the world. Poaching is the illegal killing and trade of mainly endangered animal body parts. This problem is very harmful to ecosystems and animal populations which is why there are many groups trying their hardest to stop it. I had known of this trade before reading the article, but I did not understand how dangerous it is. Poaching is a multibillion-dollar trade that includes very dangerous and powerful people. There has been around 1000 park rangers killed since 2006 because of their attempt of stopping the poachers. I wonder if poaching is illegal all around the world? I also wonder if a poacher got caught and accused of poaching and murder how long would they have in prison? I find it awful that this whole trade is driven by money with no regards to animal life or the planet. I think that it is very important to get the word about poaching out so that more people work to reduce it. I think unfortunately this trade will never be able to be fully stopped with the amount of money involved but I do think it could be slowed.

A assignment I am proud of

An assignment I am proud of.

An assignment I am proud of from semester one is my mind map in science. It was the last assignment we did and I was very proud of it. I did all the points on the criteria as well as making it visually appealing and neat to read. While doing the assignment I did a lot of research on the topics of mitosis, miosis, asexual reproduction and sexual reproductions. I watched videos, read articles and revised my notes to prepare and by doing that I learned a lot about the topics.

Break the fake 2- Quebec gives the unvaccinated a heavy tax

Everywhere is pushing for people to get the covid-19 vaccine and Quebec is doing it by putting a tax on the unvaccinated.
The national post some are saying that the taxing will most likely work the way they are hoping to considering that on 10% of the population is unvaccinated. Though some are also say the tax eventual taxing will be challenged in court and eventually fall through.

  1. My first step to check if this was reliable was to see who wrote the article. The writers name is Christopher Nardi.  After doing some research I found that Christopher Nardi is a credible journalist for the national post. (phots on word document)
  2. for my next step I looked up the topic to see if there was any other articles on the topic. (photos on word document)
  3. the final thing i found confirming the topic was the video from the briefing confirming their idea to put the taxes in place. (photos on word document)

Over all I would say that this article is true and gave lots of real and factual information. this is a very knew concept so details will change but for no i would say everything is correct.

These are my screen shots from the article and my research. the photos would not upload so i had to put it onto a document 🙂

An assignment I am proud of

An assignment I am proud of is the stool I made in wood work.

In the past (middle school) I was in wood work but we only made very simple projects. This year the projects are more compacted and we get to make them with more independence . My stool turned out pretty good as well. I probably could have spent more time on the sanding but other then that I am proud of the over all product.
