In this post, I will be talking about an assignment I was proud of in English 9. The project was to create a debate dialogue between three characters of a novel we read together in class.

The novel we read together was called “Dear Martin”. It was related to our BLM unit and it was about a black teenage boy who was going through many difficult events throughout his life because of his race.

We worked on this project in parters and my parter and I thought it would be interesting to use the question ‘Should underage teenagers be tried and treated as adults are?’ because we thought it related to the novel in some ways and we thought it would be a good way to bring out the voices of the characters from the novel.

I was proud of this assignment because I really did learn a lot from this unit and I think I was able to work with my parter and create a debate dialogue that addressed our main topic well and brought out the character’s personalities. Below is the link to the document.
