quarter three – proud assignment

I am proud of many assignments and projects from quarter three, but if I had to choose the one I’m most proud of, it would unquestionably be “the mac & cheese-off” from food studies. Throughout the food studies class, we learned numerous techniques and recipes, and the final project was to modify a mac & cheese recipe given in class and create our own. Me and my partner wanted to create something different, something creative. So, we decided to make a “green mac & cheese” to make it green, we used “poblano” peppers and Havarti cheese instead of cheddar, and to be honest, it turned out even better than we thought it would! It tasted really good, had a perfect texture, and the presentation looked nice (we used cilantro for decoration).

In other words, I’m proud of this assignment because I liked the way it turned out, learnt a lot, and had so much fun!

*Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of the final product, but here is the recipe:

Break the Fake – video clip claiming a plane caught on a typhoon managing to land safely

I found a video of a plane caught on a typhoon (a giant, rotating storm that brings wind). The plane did a few spins on the air, but surprisingly, still managed to land safely.

  1. I found the video on Twitter. I want to know if the video is real.

2. The tweet was made by the famous dancer “James Jordan,” and he had a blue checkmark. But, in the video we can see that the source is actually a site named “Time News International”, and it does not have a blue checkmark.

3. I did a search on Wikipedia on the Time News International, but, I couldn’t find anything, which possibly means that the site is unknown and unreliable.

4. I also used Snopes.com to see if the video was real. I found out that the video was actually a comuter animation, which means that the article is Fake.

5. Finally, I double-cheked on other reliable sources to make sure the video was fake. In effect, the video is just a coputer animation; fake.

An assignment I’m proud of – Quarter two

I am proud of multiple of my quarter two assignments, but I am probably most proud of “my logo” from drafting; for this assignment, I had to create my own logo using AutoCAD (an application for 2D and 3D design).

this is “my logo”:

As you can see, it is a green snake with a word in the center (sprr.), and there is a meaning behind it; before starting the logo, we had to brainstorm ideas and names for our “brand,” the main topic of mine was “eco-friendly.”
And, what is the most eco-friendly colour? Green! that is why I chose to make it that colour.  After some research, I decided to make a snake because I found out that snakes can symbolize change – changing to an eco-friendly lifestyle. Finally, you might be wondering what “sprr.” means: it is the word superior but without vowels.

I am proud of this assignment for various reasons; it was one of the last assignments for drafting, and when I saw the final product, I realized how much I had improved – one thing you should know about me is that I am really bad at using technology. At first, I thought AutoCAD was extremely hard to use and that I would never learn how to use it, but after looking at the final product, I realized how much I had improved; I went from not being able to make circles to make my logo, and even printing it on a t-shirt!.

Travel

My passion is travelling, sometimes, travelling is essential to rest my mind and body, particularly when I spend a lot of time at school. Travelling isn’t just a time for rest and recreation, but it can also benefit our long term health. It has been proven that travel can improve mental health by encouraging gratitude and boosting happiness and satisfaction. When you have multiple worries, resting your mind feels marvellous, but why? Why do I enjoy travelling?

Most of us like to travel because it’s a fundamental pleasure that includes: anticipation, movement, break from routine, novelty, and discovery; these factors and many more are the main reason why travelling is an art. The art of travel means understanding the purpose of travelling, knowing the right people and processes, and having a productive attitude; it means living every moment to the fullest, following passions and growing as a person.

The art of travel is not about sharing every single moment on social media. Usually, when we travel, we do it for ourselves, not for our followers/ friends. A real travel artist savours the travel experience, not just shares them on social media.

I love Travelling so much because it is one of the only things you buy to make you richer; the memories you create while travelling stay with you forever.

PE 9 – remote workouts

In P.E. 9, we had to do some online workouts.
Here is a picture of the results of my first run and a picture of the results of my last run; I’m really proud of these tasks because I noticed that with time and practice, I improved my pace and resistance, which made me appreciate all the hard work, Practice makes perfect.
