All about Snowboards

The earliest pair of skis dated all the way back to 6000 BCE Russia. However, it wasn’t until the 20th century when another form of snow sport was invented. In 1965, Sherman Poppen introduced the first snowboard in the world. He tied two skis together with a rope at the end for stabilization. To date, a modern snowboard is made of a flexible laminated wood core, fibreglass, and a metal edge that allows grip on the snow. The height of the snowboard varies depending on the rider’s height. Your snowboard should generally stand between your chin and nose. Just like skis, there are also many types of snowboards built for different types of terrains. The first type is called a freestyle snowboard. This type of snowboard is mainly built for the jumps and rails in the terrain park. It has a symmetrical shape and flex that allows you to ride switch freely. Another type of snowboard is called the powder board. This type of board is built strictly for deep powder snow. It is the widest type of board and it is mainly made for floating on powder. Other gears that you will need for snowboarding are bindings, boots, helmet, and goggles. Since it was invented, the snowboard industry has grown significantly. Nowadays, snowboarding is a competitive extreme sport that appears in X Games, Winter Olympics, and many more competitions.
