Q3 Proud Assignment – Yohan Lee

During quarter 3 of my 1st year at Charles Best, I had to do an assignment about linear relations.

The whole purpose of this assignment was for students to understand the knowledge about graphing, to know slope equations, like y = mx + b.

This assignment asked us to choose an animal for to graph on a grid and right down coordinates from certain points of our choosing, I had to write down 8 total equations; 2 horizontal points, 2 vertical points, 2 positive sloped equations and 2 negative sloped equations.

For this project, the animal I chose was a monkey, the reason why I chose a monkey was because I saw a very wholesome video where this monkey leads a man somewhere, here is the url of this video:

This is pretty much the only reason why I chose a monkey/chimp over any other animal.
😉
Either way, I thought it was a fun assignment to do and I thank my teacher Ms. Cho for teaching me Math 9.
Hope everyone else does well in future classes!

My Proudest Assignment From Quarter 2

During socials 9 of quarter 2, I really enjoyed working on this project about the American revolution.
I learned that Americans pretty much hate the British, I would understand why they would but their hatred seems to be a bit excessive. Apparently Great Britain decided to aggravate the Americans by increasing the amount of tax since the war prior to this war (the Seven years war) made Britain go poor because of the amount of money they poured in the military. So Americans fought back and eventually won to claim independence.
(to this day, a lot of Americans still hate the British.)

For this project, I was supposed to fill 6 boxes with D E T A I L E D information about the American revolution/war of independence, and as you can see, I did put a lot of detail! (I think the grammar might be scuffed, but I tried.)

I was happy when this project turned out to be good looking, since it took me a collective 4 hours on fine detail of that huge building, king George III, George Washington and all the other drawings. I considered the drawings to be very pristine, besides George Washington’s face, but overall I thought that I did very well on this project.

It does look quite bland since it is mainly white. The reason why I did not use outliner or colored pencils were these reasons. I did not want the dark marker to seep through the paper, making both sides look terrible; and I didn’t want to use colored pencils because I am bad at shading in a color and I personally like black and white more than bright flashy colors.

This project was fun and I hope the people who have future classes with Mr. Mackay also have a good time!

Why Drug Abuse Is A Real Problem

This topic is a very serious manner and remains very pervasive in British Columbia.

Drugs have been with humanity for a very long time, but a lot of the time people take advantage of it. The director of BCCDC (British Columbia Centre for Disease Control), Tyndall, had been working with drug addicts for some time. Trying desperately to keep them alive, helping them control their problems. But, over the course of 2016, 1422 tragic lives were taken from overdoses. Tyndall was sick of watching people die, so he said to start a program that distributed hydro morphine pills to only registered users. I know that addictions occur and it is hard to get rid of, but I know that motivation and support goes along the ways of helping. That is why we absolutely cannot let drugs win over the mentality of victims, we should always help them to improve themselves so they don’t live a tragic and unfortunate life. I believe that drug users are not educated enough to understand their actions. In the Article ‘Death, death-day in, day out.’, It states that this one person that befriended people who overdose, often dealt with hardship since they die quickly. It also states that another person lost 12 people he knew to the lethal drug, Fentanyl, and 2 of those people were his close friends.

I ask this question to you viewer, do you think people really care about others if they are involved with drug addiction? I say, if you know someone who does drugs, try everything in your power to stop them.

(P.S., I am not passionate about drug abuse, I am passionate about ending drug abuse.)

Science 9 – Bonds & exo/endothermic energy

In quarter 1 of my grade 9 year, I had science 9 with Ms.Galuska from Charles best secondary school. I enjoyed this one assignment I had to do during my time in that class, and that topic was about bonds. I was really glad of how it turned out, but I already know that everything in life will have a flaw, and I plan to work on those flaws so then I can be better within the class that I am in.

this is the link to my video since the file was too big:

Rules for commenting on my blogs

Thank you for reading this post, since it is considered very important to my blogs, and it really is, so I respectfully ask you to read the following rules and abide by them if all possible. These are what I personally think is best, because since this blog is under my authority to manage, I can use my knowledge to set the rules I deem suitable. I did not use any external links to create these guidelines, but I did have some past reliance with others to understand general, normal guidelines.

  • If you’re going to comment on any page of mine, please do so in a polite manner, meaning no profanity. This is a professional environment where we build up others, not ones that tears others down with inane criticism.
(this rule is very important not just here, but in every sense of the internet, we cannot openly criticize anyone, even if they have flaws, so to help others, we must use constructive criticism to help other people improve on their weaknesses, because just calling them bad is what makes it worse.)
  • Keep everything family friendly and do not use external links.
e.g., do not decide to post a link to a website for any reason, or do not post an image which contains anything of the following: nudity, gore, 18+, and memes.
(The reason why I say this, is because I want a professional environment where we strive to achieve what is best, I do not need things that will slow down or regress my/and your learning. I personally think we should think about the things that will improve on humanity, and making things that are generally immature, is what I consider useless and unnecessary/needless.)

  • Have common sense when talking to others in the comment section, if talking about a debate between two or more parties in a blog post.
(We don’t want anyone thinking the wrong idea when there is a minor conflict between individuals, so if you have an opinion on something, make sure it’s understandable, and make it related to the subject, otherwise people are going to either get the wrong idea about something or they might dislike the way you comment.)
  • No drama or unserious activity allowed, I have seen some bad things, and I will certainly not accept those bad things here.
(I have witnessed some things I would rather not have seen, and because of it I had a new perspective on life, I respectfully like to say that I and lots of others consider the internet to be very immature, we see some preposterous images and thoughts people come up with, and I would not want to see or hear these things. It is a big thing when I am trying to make a blog with professional and positive care, and it should be a big thing to you readers as well, don’t take things for granted, ever.)

Example: My blog about COVID-19

“My family and I agree with your statements, they seem to be very true, I would recommend working more on your speech skills however, since you did lay out the facts, but you are too fast at speaking, it may be hard for other people to understand, just keep that in mind. Good luck to your future projects as well!” – Yohan’s thoughts.
