The pumpkin building in Ceramics:

For an assignment that I am really proud of, I chose to talk about the pumpkin we had to make in my ceramics class. I chose this because I think I did really well on the construction of the project and a good job on the details.

For this assignment, we had to create two separate pinch pots, then mold them together to form one big sphere. We had to ensure there were no cracks, which I did, and that there was no evidence of the separate pinch pots on the outside. We had to carve dent like lines into the sphere shape to recreate a more pumpkin shape. We molded a stem and attached it to the pumpkin, and then we were finished.

Next, came the painting and the details. I think I did a really good job at blending the different colors and at making it seem natural. The painting was the easiest and fastest part of the whole project.

All in all, I’m very proud of this project.
