Welcome to Rachael’s blog!

Welcome to the official blog of Rachael. I enjoy reading, doing sports, sewing, making music, learning, and watching cool shows. In this blog, I will be educating you about current world problems and how to make a difference in the world. I will also be sharing tips on lifestyle and fashion.

1) My favorite quote:

“They’ll tell you you’re too loud, that you need to wait your turn and ask the right people for permission. Do it anyway.” -Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

This is my favorite quote because it’s by the amazing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I love everything she stands for and the unbelievable power she holds, truly inspires me. Not only does she advocate for what’s right, but she influences young women like me, to speak up and share their opinions. This quote inspires me to stand true in what I believe and to always continue educating myself on what I preach. Not only is this quote motivational, but it speaks to me about equality and feminism (which are both extremely important to me). It also tells you that no matter how much people will try to bring you down, as long as you believe in yourself, nothing can stop you.

2) My Favorite YouTube Clip:

This is my favorite YouTube clip because I love the quote “no uterus, no opinion”. It really speaks to the testament that men should not be speaking about women’s bodies or what do with them.

3) A Picture that has impacted me:

The face-off between police and protesters in Portland is ...

This is my favorite picture because of the impactful meaning of the peaceful protests that have been happening for years and years. Finally, people see the corrupt system they work for and are fighting for the justice of millions of black people who were murdered and wronged, solely because of their skin color. Not only am I an ally, but I will also continue to educate myself and help attain justice for the beautiful people who were wrongfully accused and murdered. The change that was needed for millions of years starts now.

4) My Favorite Website: https://www.sgi.org/

This is my favorite website because it is the international website for my practice and what I believe in.

(Optional)

  • Historic event based on your birthday:

June 25 is my birthday. I found an interesting and impactful historic event that is actually deeply important to me.

On June 25, 1993, both Canada and Turkey elected female heads of government for the first time

Kim Campbell became Canada’s and Tansu Çiller Turkey’s Prime Minister on this day. Worldwide, women in top political positions are still the exception.
