Podcast – Communication 9

The project that I am the proudest of from the last quarter was in my communications class. We had to make a podcast in french, our podcast was about famous murderers. I think that it was very well done and that it was very creative. I had fun making it and I thought it was really interesting to learn about these famous murders. I learned that it is way harder then I thought to make podcasts that are captivating and interesting for the listener to hear. But in general, I think that it was a very fun project to do with my friends.

Break the fake- Sleep problems in teens

  1. First, I searched up the topic on Snopes and I couldn’t find anything on the topic.

2. I looked into the page about the website and I found that it is by an organization called Nemours foundation.

3. Next, I tried to search up the foundation on Snopes but it led me to another dead end but when I googled it I found that it is really an organization that is known.

4.  I looked into the doctors that control the website and that add facts to them and found that they are indeed certified, doctors.

5. Finally, I searched up the main point in the article and found that the main fact was indeed true. Then I searched up the writer of the article and he seemed like a legit doctor that works in a children’s hospital.

This article is about the reasons and facts about why teenagers might feel like they don’t feel tired until later in the night. There are other things that it talks about like sleeping disorders but the main reason I was interested in this article was I heard of something that causes us to feel tired later in the night. I found in the article that it is called circadian rhythm. What happens is that the brain hormone that produces the hormone melatonin is released later in the night than kids and adults. so basically that is why teenagers might feel like they can’t sleep early and why they are so tired in the morning.

English 9 – Song Lyrics Project

In my English class, I had the opportunity to deeply analyze a song. I found it very interesting because I found out something new about one of my favourite songs. And it made me realize that many of the songs I love, I might’ve interpreted completely wrong. So, in general, I really enjoyed making this project and presenting and sharing my ideas.

Laws of attraction and reaching your goals.

I think for the most part the laws of attraction are true. To a certain extent, I think that it is true and you can avoid bad situations with the right mindset and thinking, but not everything is in our control. For example, when you are having a bad day everything seems to go wrong even the smallest things. And on other days when you are at your highest, it feels like nothing can bring you down. If you want something you need to have a good mindset and act on it. One of the things that people need to be happy, is a goal in life that they are trying to reach because that makes you feel like you have meaning in your life. Whether the goal is being successful in your job or your social life. I’ve tried these things in my life and I really do believe that they can help with your goals and wellbeing. I chose this topic because I think that many people have goals and they try to have the right mindset but they do not act on them. They think that it is easy to reach their goals when really the most successful people in life are the ones that tried the hardest and put the most effort. You will never see all the sacrifices and time people have put in, so you shouldn’t be quick to judge others or yourself.

Guidelines for commenting on my blog

Thank you for visiting my blog once again. I can’t wait to see your comments on future posts! These are some examples of the guidelines that I think would help you make the best comments possible.

  • Write comments that add to the conversation. Ask a question. Provide a link that might clarify a point. Copy/paste a passage that interests you then write your comments and questions.

Writing comments that can add to the topic of conversation is something that I would appreciate! Coming back to sentences that I wrote and using them to prove a point also lets me know you were interested in them.

  • Read the article. Read all the comments. Be part of the full discussion.

If you read everything then you will understand everything. This way we can avoid misunderstandings and have meaningful discussions.

  • Be open-ended and open-minded when reading about my topic.

You might not agree with the opinions of every other person and that’s ok, but you need to respect the ideas of other people and keep an open mind. Respect can mean having a calm conversation about the conflicting topic.

  • Use good grammar and spelling. Mistakes cause readers to focus on how you write, not your ideas.

Poor grammar and spelling shows me that you didn’t put enough thought into the comment. So just a little thing like checking spelling and grammar shows that you care and that you are interested in the conversation.
