My proud assignment

My proud assignment from quarter 3 is my last project I did for science. I chose a topic and a main question that I could answer while walking around Mundy park. The topic was all about the moss in Mundy Park and my question was “What type and quantity of moss are identified within mapped locations of Mundy Park and what substrate is it growing on?”

Before going on my walk, I made sure to know a but about moss and the types that can be found at Mundy Park. There are 5 main types at Mundy Park; flat moss, lanky moss, mountain fern moss and Oregon beaked moss.  I walked around Mundy Park and analyzed every piece of moss in one area and made sure I knew the location on the map.  I had a lot of fun learning about the nature around me. Something interesting that I found on my stroll was on a decomposing cedar stump and it was this teal stuff that is a mixture of fungi and algae.

I needed to present my presentation in front of tiny groups three times. Surprisingly, I was not scared at all, in fact I was very confident in myself. The only information I had wrote down was on the powerpoint. The rest I knew by heart.

I am very proud of myself of being so confident while presenting and putting lots of time into my work. I am also proud of the topic I chose, because I was not sure if I should choose this topic, but I followed my heart and I do not regret doing it.
