The Engineering Design Process pt. 2

It is very common for people to leave the lights on in a household or room, and forget to turn them off. This results in a lot of wasted energy. For the project, my partner and I were planning on creating a device that is a motion/light sensor. The device works when movement or any change in light appears, the device will turn the lights on. If motion or light returns to its original state or movement are no longer detected, the device will turn the lights off. There are different settings to the device as well such as; a lock mode and a timer to set on how much longer to keep the lights on, which is convenient to people and earth, saving energy as well.

The Engineering Design Process pt.1

For the Engineering Design project, my partner and I were discussing creating a device that helps conserve energy. This device would function by sensing motion or a change in light, the lights would then turn on. After some time, if no movement is detected by the device, the lights would then turn off. However, there can also be different settings for example; putting the light on lock to ensure it does not turn off. For the parts of the device, my partner and I were planning on incorporating a light sensor, motion detector, as well as a rotary angle sensor.
