Final Assignment Coast Salish Art: Part 2

My awareness of Coast Salish Art in our community changed. I learned that Coast Salish Art has deeper meaning behind it, that the shapes aren’t just placed at random and that there is a reason for where each shape is placed. I learned that crescents can be used for beaks and claws, that circles can be used for joints and eyes, trigons can be used for wings and U-forms can be used for tails. I find it very meaningful how not only does each shape haveĀ  meaning, but so do the animals. Creating my own drawing of Coast Salish Art made me appreciate the design process that goes into the making of each animal artwork.
