MicroBit Progress #2

The problem with the vibration motor is that I don’t even know if we can make it like a BlueTooth. The problem with the LED lights, is that; there will have to be a ton of lights for the person that’s deaf to know that the doorbell has been rung. The reason why we chose to do a doorbell for people who have hearing disabilities is that even with technology today, with the doorbell being connected to your phone, people who are deaf won’t have their phone on them the whole day. If they don’t have their phone with them the whole day, they won’t be likely to be able to feel the vibration of their phone when the doorbell has been rung.

MicroBit Progess #1

After discussing this project with my partner Amelia, we decided on doing a doorbell for people who have hearing disabilities. We decided to do a loudness sensor that detects the ring of the doorbell, which is connected to a vibration motor. The vibration motor is attached to the person that is deaf and is like a bracelet. The purpose of this is so that once the doorbell rings, the bracelet vibrates and the person that’s deaf can feel it and will know that someone is at the door. Another option that we thought of is LED lights that will activate once the loudness sensor has detected the doorbell ringing.
