In English 12, I demonstrated communication skills through the writing I wrote. I learned the importance of writing clarity in ensuring anyone can understand my thoughts and perspectives. In the first two essays, there were some issues with the clarity of my introduction paragraphs, hindering the reader’s comprehension if hope to read quickly. I learned from my mistakes and did significantly better on my third essay, showing “undeniable focus” in my writing with clear intention from start to finish. In the future, I hope to be able to receive more feedback in my communication and slowly refine the edges.
In Anatomy and Physiology 12, I have been consistently doing research for my assignments and projects. I am required to cite these sources at an academic level, requiring careful attention to details. This shows my critical thinking because I demonstrated that I could analyze large sources, including many academic journals, and extract useful information for the task. In addition, I used my critical thinking to analyze the best way to research and find information to increase my future productivity. I will continue to improve my researching skills through consistent learning and reflection.
Thought the last year, I have developed significantly in personal awareness and responsibility. After some disappointing performances in my competitive programming competitions, I eventually realized over the course of months that I need to discover more about myself over continuously grinding towards a singular award. I realized that I should work with the limitations of us as humans over fighting against it. For example, I stopped forcing myself to practice when I was not physically or mentally prepared. I learned about lifestyle habits and the science behind them. I found what brings me satisfaction and what helps my well-being outside of engaging with my main passion. I will continue to learn and grow by engaging with different perspectives that will lead me to self-satisfaction.
