Hello people, my name is Peng, and welcome to my blog! I am a secondary student that is a computer geek, a chess meme lover, factory building and automation video game enthusiast, and have an interest in political and economic systems. In my blog, I will share my interests, my life experiences, and my secondary school life all the way to grade 12.
My favourite quote is one from someone that everyone knows, Martin Luther King Jr. However, this quote is more than what most people were tought in school about King. He was not only protesting against racism, but also against the two other evils in this world according to King, poverty and war. He realized that imperialism, exploitation, and racism were all interconnected in this unjust system. This idea still applies the current system in the United States, as well as Canada and other Western nations. I love this quote since it explains the reason behind a lot of injustices in society and shows the more radical side of Martin Luther King Jr.

My favourite YouTube clip is something that I find really funny, which is why this is my favourite Youtube clip. If you don’t know much about chess ratings, let me explain. I will also expect you know the rules of chess and the value of chess pieces for this section. Basically chess players get rated based on the Elo system. This determines your strength based on previous games. If you win against a stronger player, you gain more Elo points, and if you lose, you lose less, and vise versa. The player getting trashtalked has a rating of about 1600, which is an intermediate player. This player however, allowed a bishop and a knight to be attacked at the same time on move six by a pawn, in which the player will lose a piece for one pawn. The player also had the chance to trap the enemy queen, meaning it has no escape, for three moves in a row!!! All of this is not expected from a player rated 1600.
My favourite picture is also another one about chess, but this time it is probably easier to understand. You really only need to understand the rules of chess for this section. On Chess.com, there are lessons that teach you lots of stratagies throughout the phases of the game. I am currently doing the review portion of the lesson, where many positions are shown and I have to solve them. In the picture, I promoted to a rook, because it is checkmate. Promoting to queen is what you would do 99% of the time, since it is better than a rook, bishop, or knight in all but the most specific situations. In this situation, promoting to rook or queen wins instantly, so I promoted to rook for the memes since it is normally the weaker piece. However, the automated “couch” said that I got the puzzle wrong, even though it is checkmate!!! I love this picture because of how funny it is and also brings me back to the time where I did these lessons and puzzles constantly, which I do not do anymore.
My favourite website that is not Google or Youtube is one specific to a factory building and automation video game, Satisfactory. I own many automation games, which is 95% of what video games I play. Satisfactory is a game about building production lines to make raw ores and other resources into more complex products. For example, iron ore can gets turned into iron ingots or mixed with coal to make steel ingots, and these ingots are used to make iron rods, iron plates, and more. The my favourite website is a calculator so you can plan out production lines without doing lots of math. You just select the product to be produced and the amount per minute. The calculator will then visualize the whole production chain and tell the number of buildings required for each step and the resources required for the system to run at peak efficiency. When dealing with complex items and recipes, this calculator saves so much time during planning, allowing me to enjoy the game more and build more in the game. The factory must grow!!!
