Core Competencies Reflection

Demonstration:
In my History 12 class, I have been able to demonstrate critical and reflective thinking. In this class, I am often exposed to a multitude of different sources that convey viewpoints from a multitude of perspectives. Through my past knowledge and information learned throughout the course, I was able to analyze and critique parts of the textbook and videos the teacher showed. For example, I was able to notice a fatal flaw in the arguments of a video that was shown and used evidence to explain to the rest of the class and the teacher.
Growths:
Throughout this semester, I have greatly improved my personal awareness & responsibility. In February, I ended up failing a major programming competition that I had prepared for for two years. This was the spark that lead to mental health issues. During my break from competitions, I noticed that my studying and time management skills were worse than I thought. I took the initiative to self-improve. I realized the harshness of the world and changed my way of thinking to fight negativity. I started setting up limits for myself to limit wasted time and reduce distractions. I have more elaborate plans for the future. Right now, I feel much more comfortable about continuing my grind on my competitions.
Goals:
My goal for the future is to improve my skills in communication and collaboration. I am going to be able to do this by all the extracurriculars I am going to do over the summer. I am planning to start problem setting for an organizations for other competitors, teaching the next generation of programmers, and volunteering.
