Why I am proud of my poem.

I am proud of my poem because before I wrote the poem, I had no confidence in myself to write a poem but after writing it, in my opinion, I did a lot better than what I expected to write. My poem is about a 16-year-old boy who traveled around Quebec to go to his father who left him when he was younger, and he now is in front of the door about to knock on it.

Thump Thump, Thump Thump.
My heart sinks as I stand in the doorway
Motionless as a static statue
I’m a nervous wreck waiting to see what’s on the other side
A thousand thoughts running through my wild mind
Of what may be my fate or my great sorrow
I look at the door as I conceive and wonder what I’ll do
Do I run from my fear quickly or do I fight
I give in and do what is right

Here is the poem. It was originally written in French so it was translated back to English.
