breast cancer is diagnosed in over 264,000 american women in the united states according to the centers for disease control and prevention. unfortunately, 42,000 cases are fatal. breast cancer cab affect both women and men but it is more prominent in women over the age of 50 years old. early detection is key to this disease. mammograms are one of the biggest ways to detect breast cancer. doctors are able to divide breast cancer diagnoses into subtypes based on whether the cancer contains oestrogen and proestegrone receptors, which means they are sensitive to hormones and whether they have high levels of HER2 positive proteins which increases the cell growth.
