In quarter 2, I had French communications as one of my courses.
I prepared a presentation about a quote that I like and then led a class discussion about it.
The quote is : “Anybody can quit. Only a real champion and a person of character and strength can keep going and refuse to give up.” By Sadie Robertson
Firstly, I gave my thoughts on the quote and provide some personal examples to support these thoughts:
- When you are in a difficult time or when you have a lot of fear and doubt, you must always remember that this situation does not last forever. For example Covid seems to last forever but with the discovery of vaccines we see the end of the pandemic.
- When we refuse to ever give up, it shows us a very determined, confident and hardworking person. The people around you will start to notice these qualities and will admire you. For example I failed my science test and I asked my teacher for a retake of the test. I put a lot more effort and it paid off.
- When you never give up and you get to the other side of the situation, you are going to have more knowledge on how to react in similar situations in the future and you are going to be able to help others. For example, my friend wanted to join a talent show but was to shy. I encouraged her by joining it with her. My friend performed really well and got a lot of applause and praises.
Secondly, I also asked my class for their opinion on my quote.
Finally, I asked the class to share a difficult time in their life when they did not give up.
I am proud of my work because I prepared well despite my impatience with practicing. I even practiced my presentation in front of my mom to get feedback on things to work on. I overcame my fear of presentations and did really good. I received an A on this project. I also received good feedback from my classmates.
