Science 9 Student Space Flight Experiment Proposal

In Science 9 we worked on proposals for SSEP which is a project where you design an experiment that fits in a tube and write a proposal for it. If it’s really good then it can be picked and sent to the ISS so the astronauts can do your experiment in micro gravity.

Here is our proposal, I had to work with two other classmates. I’m really proud of it because I put a lot of work into it and it took us a long time to get it done because of a number of challenges we faced. Our experiment was to see how micro gravity effected crystal growth. It seems like a simple question but we had to figure out what compound to use, how to start the reaction in a tube, how to separate the to elements so the experiment wouldn’t start on it’s journey to space, as well as how to stop the experiment before it comes back so the journey back doesn’t change anything. We solved these problems and finished our proposal on time. We don’t know if we were picked yet so we’ll have to wait and see.
