Take your kid to work day (Nov 2nd)
On November 2nd, I went to Inspire dental, a dental clinic. It was very interesting and I learned a lot about dentistry. I followed Dr. Kassam, a dental surgeon around and watched what he did. His child and I went from room to room seeing what he did on a daily basis. It was very interesting because we got to see a surgery. When I wasn’t following him I cleaned the room with an assistant dentist.
HEAR: When I was there I heard a lot of machines, buzzing, cleaning and talking. They had many patients. The machines were very cool. I heard a lot of communication between the different dentists. When they were cleaning the mouths, there was a lot of machines at work and they were loud.
SEE: I saw a lot of blood, teeth, gum, mold, happiness and water. When I was there I looked into a lot of mouths and saw a lot of X-Rays. They were all different and unique in there own way. When I went from room to room all the rooms were very clean and very thing was well organized.
SMELL: I smelled a lot of latex, hand sanitizer and different cleaning tools. When you cleaned things or touched things that were dirty or would go into someone’s mouth, you had to wear gloves. When you took your gloves off or touched anything you have to wash your hands or hand sanitize after.
FEEL: I felt very happy and intrigued with what I was watching. Everyone made me feel very welcomed and I was very happy to be there. It was a very good experience.
The environment would motivate me to wake up and go there every morning because the people are very kind and it is a very good space to be. Everyone there has a very good vibe and they are all very welcoming. It is a fun job and you meet new and kind people everyday.
I don’t think there is really anything that would discourage me to go to work. The environment is amazing. I think the only thing that would discourage me to go to work is waking up early.
If there is another opportunity to go to a work place, I would choose a hospital. I want to see what they do and how they work.
