For TOKTWD I went to Hillcrest Middle School with Mr. Nay and Ms. Knight. I talked to students and helped them with their work. I also put up posters on the wall, I watched students do art in explorations, and play 4 corner soccer in team PE, I helped a group of kids with their social studies work and their kahoot. At lunch me and the other “Volunteers” wandered the school. I enjoyed TOKTWD and I would do it again.

  1. What did you hear, see, smell, and feel in the work environment on Nov. 6th? Use details

I hear kids talking about the sleep REM stages, footsteps in the hallway, students screaming outside, a student complaining about the math homework, questions about high school, and team PE 4 corner soccer.

I see pencil cases, desks, backpacks, water bottles, worksheets, soccer balls, volleyballs, Mundy Park, teachers and students.

I smell clay, food, paint from the art room, paper and nature.

I feel a desk, my computer, my visitor pass, the soccer ball used for four corner soccer,

  1. What about the environment would motivate you to wake up every day to attend work? Why?

Motivating and helping people to learn. Helping others can make you feel good.

  1. What about the work environment would discourage you from waking up every day to attend work? Why?

Sometimes the noise, annoyances and questions can get to be too much.

  1. What is ONE thing you found interesting about your workplace visit? Why?

How they changed the schedule by making it where they go outside before eating and having an “instructional lunch”.
