microbits project part 2

After figiting with the microbits app a bit and learning how to use LED, we figured out that we can change the colours but it would take a bit of work. We wanted to do the colours blue and red which would probably be the easiest but then for a bit of a challenge we would wan to do other colours but we still aren’t sure how to get other colors to work. We want to somehow create a voice over to the microbit when its linked so that when we say change to yellow, blue, etc, it would change within at least a minute, or if we even had to type something into the computer or on our phone and press a button to change the colour. With the water bottle, we need to find a clear water bottle and another smaller bottle we could put inside where the water would go, but that has the same amount of space at the top of the lid to drink from. We wanted to figure out how to get the LED lights to stay as well because that’s going to take us some time.

microbits project part 1

For this project, me and Amber started with the idea of creating a charging port inside a clothing em. When we tried to see how we can incorporate that with a micro bit we realized it couldn’t really charge anything and it would require a lot of wires and work. We aren’t that familiar with working with micro bits so we wanted to program something that was a lot easier to work with. Our idea went from the charging port to something with LED. LED is something me and amber are both really capable of coding with LED lights so we built an idea off of that. Our idea became an LED water bottle, where we would make the micro bit centered where you cant see it in a see through clear cup. We would place the microbit in the middle and led strips on the sides of the water bottle. We would then learn how to program how to get the Led lights to change colours, which is what we would be working on another time.
