Creating, Testing, and Improving our device!

On Thursday me and my partner Caitlin met up once more to finish the design, creating, testing, and improving of our device. Caitlin found a way to stop the melody once she had pressed the button and that worked out well because from there we could shake the device and we could stop the melody. The code we used was “Stop Melody” which then stopped the ring tone once you pressed button A. We decided to remove button B because we found it too complicated and too much of a distraction from what our device was trying to do. We had a blast trying to test our micro bit!

After finishing the coding we decided to test out our code with a micro bit to make sure that everything was working right. It was very cool to see when we shook the tiny micro bit, that it was able to create a noise and then once we pressed button A, the noise stopped and a check mark appeared. We tested out the sound but using 2 paperclips and putting in on the 2 places on the micro bit (shown on the picture). Then we attached the base of the headphones to the 2 paperclips and were able to hear the ringtone. We happily listened to the ringtone and then made it stop. We had so much fun creating, testing, and improving our device! I’m glad that we had the opportunity to be creative and be pushed out of our comfort zone!
