Teachers Share is a community of practice created by teachers for teachers. This project evolved in response to the challenges faced by teachers when implementing the new K-12 curriculum in British Columbia. With a competency-driven model and an emphasis on inquiry, project-based, and interdisciplinary approaches, the new curriculum provides increased flexibility for teachers, and more opportunity for creating learning experiences that are relevant, meaningful, and transformative. Yet this requires a considerable effort that teachers need to undertake with little to no support.
Teacher Share aims to change all this by bringing together teachers in our province in an opened collaborative space. The vision is to collectively create a one-stop-shop location where teachers will find support, and resources for ongoing professional growth. At Teacher Share we become better together, and together we help pave the way for the future of education in our province.
