We decided that an annoying aspect of everyday life is porch pirates. These people steal packages off the porches of those who order online. We decided to create a micro bit based invention to try and stop these thieves. We don’t exactly have access to a security system so we improvised to a creation to scare off thieves: loud sounds and bright lights.

We designed it with a base of a cardboard box filled with accelerometers, LEDs, and speakers. There’s an adhesive tag to stick onto the package and when it moves, it sets off the accelerometer and the sensor starts the LEDs and speakers. We used a cardboard box to consider the price so it can be accessible to anyone.
