Engineering Design Process

My partner and I are creating code for a micro:bit that would help plants by detecting moisture levels. In doing this, it would allow for the educated watering of plants in comparison with their water levels. My group would use a light and a moisture sensor to regularly check the moisture level. If the moisture level is too low or too high, the light would turn red, if the moisture level is nearing a level that is too high or too low, the light would turn yellow and if the moisture level is at a healthy level, the light would turn green.

To make our micro:bit design better, my partner and I could add a speaker portion to our project, which would allow the caretakers of the plants in question to not only see the red, yellow or green light, but also hear a beep warning. That means that even if the planter is in a different room or not looking at the micro:bit, they will still be notified about the moisture level.

  1. thanks for posting this as there were no pictures on Teams to see who had done what work. However could you change the beeps to a tune that played depending if there was too much or too little water?
