Take Your Kid To Work Day

During TOKTWD I went to a job site for construction and helped there for the day. I went to help my dad’s company Zimal Homes. Threw out the day I got to do a whole bunch of stuff. I got to use a grinder to cut a giant metal beam into small movable pieces so we could bring it to the scrap yard. I got to rip up a bunch of tile so that later the next week they could put new flouring in. I got to help grind the floors smooth, and after all that I got to help clean up for the day. I went with a family friend named Ed and had a lot of fun.

These are a few questions that I have answered

1. What did you hear, see, smell, and feel in the work environment?

I heard the sound of tools grinding against metal and concrete. I saw tools concrete tiles metal pillars and mail boxes. I smelt dust, concrete and the metallic smell of sparks from cutting it in half.

2. What about the environment would motivate you to wake up every day to attend work?

I found it a lot of fun to get up early and get to hear the loud noises of grinding metal and breaking concrete. The noise itself would wake me up in the mornings.

3. What about the work environment would discourage you from waking up every day to attend work?

I don’t think anything would discourage me from waking up every morning I had a lot of fun at work.

4. What is ONE thing you found interesting about your workplace visit?

I got to learn how to use a jackhammer and how to use a grinder. Those are the things that I found interesting about my day at work.

I had a blast, learned to use new tools, and learned what it was like to work in construction for a day. I would love to work in construction in the future.
