Throughout this semester, I demonstrated critical thinking skills when analyzing specific scientific problems in the science 10 course. I asked questions when I felt lost and evaluated evidence through several trial and error tests. I drew logical conclusions and considered different perspectives when working on labs. Moreover, when studying for tests or quizzes, I made sure to reflect on concepts I already knew and identified areas where I needed improvement. I thought critically about how to manage my time and how to study effectively which helped me preform confidently with lots of preparation.

In English 10, I used communication skills to express my ideas clearly through writing and speaking. I shared my opinions and perspectives when discussing texts in groups. In addition, I made sure to use suitable vocabulary and correct sentence structure when completing reflections. Also, I learned to receive and give constructive  criticism with my peers when participating in “peer reviews”. Through communication, I learned to connect with other students in the classroom and was able to express myself effectively and clearly through several assignments.

Reflection:

1. In the Careers 10 course, we did a budget learning activity, which was a great demonstration of critical and creative thinking. This is because we had to think out of the box and imagine our future. Throughout this project I learned to focus on the necessities of life and plan ahead. Moreover, I also set goals that can help me achieve my future objectives and set boundaries to my spendings. I found that critical and creative thinking is extremely beneficial in our day-to-day life because it helps us analyze ideas and problem solve.
2. I’ve grown the most in communication. In the Careers 10 course, I learned to collaborate with my peers, share my ideas, and participate in group activities. I learned to take leadership, listen to what others have to say and  organize my thoughts. This helped me create stronger bonds with my peers and guided me to display my ideas in a more efficient way.
3. Next, I will focus on developing social responsibility. Adding on to what I said in my past core competency, I wish to pursue the same goal. I hope to contribute to the community and care for the environment more.

Reflection:

1. In the English 9 course, we did a Shakespeare learning activity, which was a great demonstration of communication. This is because we had to collaborate with others and share our thoughtful ideas. I learned to understand my peers better when in groups and learned to take leadership. That is, I was able to show my knowledge and connect well with other students. I found that communication is extremely beneficial in our day-to-day life because it improves our social and emotional well being. Not only does it spark creativity, but also help create new bonds and friendships. Throughout this course, I learned to efficiently interpret my ideas and display information. Moreover, I acquired a knowledge of planning, brainstorming, and constructing presentations.
2. I’ve grown the most in creative thinking. In the English 9 course, I learned to develop ideas, generate creative thoughts, and use my imaginative curiosity to guide me with my assignments and tests. In the English compositions I learned to excel in my writing, think creatively and gain understanding of my mistakes.
3. Next, I will focus on developing social responsibility. I wish to contribute to the community and care for the environment more.
