Budgeting for a Special Day

I am planning a special day for my brother named Gavin.

My plan for the day is to do small but meaningful activities with my brother that I think he would enjoy. Gavin is sporty with a good style and loves hockey and video games. So we will shop at some of his favorite shops and eat at his favorite places to go including his favorite ice cream parlor.

Itinerary for the day-

10:00- a walk with our dog and dad

12:00- takeout at Browns Social House

1:30- shop at Nike

1:50- shop at Game Stop

2:00- shop at Lids

3:00- Ice cream

4:00- go home to play a board game

  1. I chose my brother because he is a funny respectful person who supports me and ice nice to me and I feel I needed to choose him to repay the favor even more of his behavior
  2. My brothers interests are my input to this project. I asked him exactly how he would want to spend it on a $300 budget
  3. I do think my project deserves an extending because I wrote out a plan for my $100/$500 day and I took extra time to plan my brothers day with my brother ordering exactly what he would want and where he would want to go on that budget.

Break the Fake part two

Around the NHL trade deadline there was a lot of speculation that goaltender Juuse Saros was going to be traded out of Nashville and most likely to either New Jersey Devils, Carolina Hurricanes, and lastly, the Edmonton Oilers.

So I fact checked with these following cites

  1. Six NHL Stars Who Could Be Traded During the 2024 Off-Season (msn.com)
  2. Analyzing Juuse Saros’ trade value and possible destinations — if he’s available – The Athletic
  3. NHL Rumors: Devils and Predators To Discuss Juuse Saros Again in the Summer

These are my top three links that I used to fact check this content

Link one had this wrote about Juuse-

“Leading up to the deadline, Nashville Predators star goalie Juuse Saros was the subject of trade speculation. GM Barry Trotz confirmed that teams expressed interest in Saros, but the club was not actively shopping him. With that, the Predators being a playoff club factored into their decision to keep him. However, with Saros being a potential UFA in July 2025, the Predators may explore his market this off-season. He has zero trade protection and would have the potential to net the Preds a massive return. Along with that, top prospect Yaroslav Askarov is waiting in the wings.”

link two had this written-

“It all depends on who will potentially be available over this next week, and that list of goaltenders includes the Nashville Predators’ No. 1, Juuse Saros. Saros’ availability is the top question, followed by whether a deal will come to fruition if he is. Trades involving goaltenders are rare in the NHL, especially midseason. Over the last five years, there have only been around a dozen in-season deals, and even fewer feature someone of Saros’ caliber.”

link three-

“The Devils and Predators have been linked as trade partners since last summer. Nashville has something the Devils need, and that is goaltending. Goaltending is the reason the Devils will not make the playoffs this season. The Predators are going to make the playoffs because of goaltending. Goaltending is not the sole reason, but it is a big reason. But if you take away Juuse Saros from Nashville, are the Predators in the position they are in? The Devils and Predators discussed a possible trade for Juuse Saros; however, those talks were just that—talks as they were short and to the point.”

-I WAS NOT ABLE TO TAKE SCREENSHOTS ON MY COMPUTER-

  1.  The article was claiming that there was talk about Saros and it got serious enough to the point that the press talked about it. But nothing serious enough to go ahead and trade Saros anywhere.
  2. The steps I went through were
  • Searching the main topic
  • picking cites that were popular and trusted when it comes to sports news
  • reading through multiple articles
  • picking my top three
  • looking at NHL social media platforms too see if there was any move on Saros
  • *cites provided above*

3. Yes there was speculation about Saros and yes they did talk about trading this goaltender.

Passions Take Your Kid To Work Day NAKAYLA BEZA

I went with my mom to work, she works from home.

1. What did you hear, see, smell, and feel in the work environment on Nov. 1st?

I was at home, so there were no new smells. I heard my mom on the phone with directors, clients, people from Hollywood, etc. I saw how my mom books jobs for her clients, new movies and show projects, she also showed me how to submit her actors to a job. I got to submit someone for a TELUS commercial

2. What about the environment would motivate you to wake up every day to attend work?

I like staying at home, you are more comfortable, and you do not have to waste money on gas. You can work anywhere you go when you are a talent agent like my mom and almost run the business yourself. My mom has a lot of freedom when it comes to her job. She likes the fact that she can stay home and do work instead of the typical 9-5.

3. What about the work environment would discourage you from waking up every day to attend work?

How late my mom stays up to do work is crazy, she also has a lot of work to do every single day, it’s as she never leaves her desk. Also, how the paycheck can be unpredictable leaves you guessing how much you made. How much your clients got chosen and kept working for what job they are working on is how much you get paid.

4. What is ONE thing you found interesting about your workplace visit?

I did not know that my mom can see movie projects that would not be visible to the public for up to five years. I also think it’s cool to look back on a project your client was on and see how well they did
