My core competency 2

I have great ideas and plans for the future in Charles best. Next year I plan to run two different clubs. Its great to be a club leader, it tests my skills on coordinating, planning and managing. Next year I will be running Archery club, which will test me on navigating and safety. I  know that I have improved from last semester, I have been trying harder in the second half, compared to grade 9 where I was less attentive, my goal to get before the end of the year is to get an A in pre-Calculus 11.

My goals for next year:

Next year is grade 11 and it matters a lot when I apply for university, therefore I will try to get mostly As

Time manages properly with no lates assignments and lates to school

My school, year went well, but there will always be time to improve in the future.

My Semester one core competency

I am proud, to not be American. But Canadian, because if I wasn’t, I would never find out about mahjong club. As a grade 10 student, I always planned on making a club, but I never thought it would so successful. I had a total of 4 clubs last year, it was a lot and I quit two of them because I had way too much to do. Originally, I had been a member in writing club, but there was another club beside our class, called Mahjong club. Yes, I never made a club, they gave me the honour of hosting the club. That was the best thing I heard. I remember the exact words near the end of the year.

“Since its almost the end of the year, who is the new leader” I ask

For context, almost everyone is leaving for uni.

“You are” Samantha said.

I remember it and it’s a great memory. I’m not going to brag here but I am proud to host meetings to 33 people each time, and the co-leader of a team of 90 students. I was a member of the original club that came every meeting, and now I come as a leader to every meeting. I have also improved my leader ship skills, my posting skills and more or less my group managing skills. Being a club leader has been my honour

Core Competency Self Reflection

My journey into Foods 11

In cooking 11, I have grown as a person to be able to work with anybody in a group to be successful. I made ideas and lead groups to work together. In my favorite group, I had two immigrants, which I adored. It taught me how to work as a team, to help others by using my voice and teaching how to certain task. Not only did it teach how to work as a team, it taught me how to see what certain people are good at and not. This taught me to teach them in certain spots, and to give them jobs they can do while also testing their abilities. We don’t always succeed in all labs, but even if I don’t, as a team, we try again.  We learn together from our mistakes while also enjoying what we made together.

Coming into foods 11, I thought it was going to be by the book. It must be done in one, and one way only. Now I can understand, its not one option, there is ways to think outside of the box. Take the idea of ingredients, It does not need to be exactly 15 milliners, nothing is exactly because there is so many factors that affect how much you need. Not only I now know there is not a linear line of instructions, there is many ways to start your journey. A steak can be cooked over flames, sous vide, butter basted, just pan fried, and even air fried. This symbolizes the unique ways you can make anymeal. The art of cooking is like English, not math. Math is one answer, but cooking up an essay can be anything you want, of course taking the factor you use the right ingredients for the recipe and don’t use abnormal amounts. Thinking outisde of the recipe is good at times, just make sure that when doing so, mistakes are crucial for learning, and take steps to fix them is the best medcine.

My core competencies

Communication:

In Communications 9, I have been getting extending. In the assignment in which we had to do a film. I was alone and I had to ask other people to help me. I Have notice that I am able to talk in front of others with some ease. In my English block, I was able to talk in front of a crowd, I memorize a poem nicely and I got an extending on that in class poem reading.

Creative thinking:

In my math review page, which was an excellent example if creative thinking because I needed to design and couleur a large page with all the math ideas and concepts. In this project, I had a great idea of separating all of them by color and also by sections. I separated by lesion, instead of all one condensed work. I have also shown such skill in my communication project. I was alone in my group, and I was able to make a plot, scrip and sequences for my film.

Critical Thinking:

In the course robotics and electronics, me and my friends were able to shown critical thinking in the robotics project. Me and two others were always ahead of the robotics class, we did a lot, such as Arduino and bread board projects. The most critical part was the project that was at a grade eleven class level. We had to work together to code the car. Even thought we did not have time to finish the car, we were close and it showed that we had the power to pursue higher problems

Social responsibility:

My responsibility in the world is to respect others. For such reason, I always show others respect and I do rage out on others.

How has your awareness of Coast Salish Art in our community changed?

How has your awareness of Coast Salish Art in our community changed?

My awareness on the shapes have improve direly. An year ago, since I am an Indigenous Student, I was invited to art, this is very similar to what this project was. The difference was it was painted, but also I was never taught of the meanings of each shape. Not knowing what the shapes mean was a big thing that is very important to the art. I am very glad that this project has taught in depth about the shapes and meanings. Before doing this project, I knew almost nothing about the meanings of this art, but I knew the meaning of the animals. For the curriculum now, the school has improved from not explain details, to doing so. I think that this is a great improvement and this has changed my thoughts on the community art.

Human vs Ai. What does the best job?

My subject: Video Games

My own paragraph

Video games, something that most parents and people think are terrible for children. This statement can be denied by my examples and reasoning. Out of all the things we do to pass time at home, such as tv, cartoons, anime, and netflix, video games are something you interact with. Unlike tv or other networks, video games require skill and eye to to hand coordination. Not only do games require thoughts and movement, games such as animal crossing, hydrometer, and survival games teach people. These games will require the person to learn and understand. But not every game have positive feed back, games that have violence, are gory and murder, will teach people negative concepts. In conclusion I think there is better things to then games, but if there is nothing else, its your best option, since you learn and test your finger skills. With that said, video games can also be a negative impact, thus, there should be a good balance between violent games and positive games.

ChatGpt’s paragraph

Video games, often demonized for their potential negative impacts, actually offer numerous benefits to players. Firstly, they can enhance cognitive abilities such as problem-solving, spatial awareness, and strategic thinking through immersive gameplay experiences. Additionally, video games provide a platform for social interaction and collaboration, fostering friendships and teamwork, especially in multiplayer environments. Many games also promote creativity and imagination, allowing players to explore vast virtual worlds and express themselves through character customization or level design. Furthermore, gaming can serve as a stress-reliever and mood booster, offering a therapeutic escape from the stresses of daily life. Lastly, with advancements in technology, certain games are even utilized for educational purposes, teaching history, science, and other subjects in engaging ways. Thus, it’s evident that when approached responsibly, video games contribute positively to mental stimulation, social connectivity, and overall well-being.

My experience:

it was very simple, it was also user friendly, it can do many things, such as make recipes, or a tutorial for knitting. Making an account was also very simple, because they have easy access for google accounts, I will note that if your making an account, you may not be able to if too many accounts are made and the company does not have enough processors. Chatgpt was one of the most harder to access, but it was very easy to use and create a paragraph.

I think that, Ai does give some truth, but the Ai keeps referring to simple concepts, and Ai is not capable of making true connections. When the Ai says how it can be a stress reliever, its not taking account of murder games. Most teenager’s play high intense games, and mostly rage, making the Ai’s point invalid. I see that almost all the points made are somewhat true, but i think that Ai is not capable of making connects and making more profound details that a human can make. One other detail is that, every paragraph made by Ai be detected, making Ai useless for actual work.

Leaning about this made me see that, to write a paragraph, you must have actual details that you learn. Ai will not replace us humans yet because they lack the actual meaning behind something. There is many concepts that is needed to write about something specific, and Ai is unable to do such task.

I almost expected this, as I have played around with Ai before, I know the capabilities of Ai. I knew that Ai could not make connections because it searches the internet, that’s also why Ai pictures can be based on stereotypes. What I did not expect was that Ai made actual concepts, which I thought it would not be able to do. In the end, Ai is very predictable in what they give, because in the end, the Ai is only code and does not have feeling or actual thoughts.

Is there really a deer zombie virus??

Now I think at first, a real zombie infection?? Its hard to beleive but with may sources that I found posting about such activity is very impossible to not trust.

Now for this article, I chose to use the Guardian, from many other, like Al jeezera, Global news and more. I trust Guardian and its a well reliable source to use.

Now the article was talking about how there is a new virus found in yellow stone that is in moose, elk and deer. Now this decease only reacts 3 months later, now in this time, the infected deer bring its virus everywhere, spreading it. Now the virus will mess with the brain caused by prions – abnormal, transmissible pathogenic agents. These will make the deer act very strange. The main question was that, would the virus spread to other species, now doctors and even the BC goverment said it shouldn’t, but still dont eat infected meat.

I could not find anything on Snopes regarding deer virus/chronic wasting disease, besides a totally not associating Covid one and some crazy bananas.

deer virus snopes

Now with all this evidence and many different sites and news, I must say, it is a real thing, not only is it real, it may pose a great danger in the future. Even without snopes, there is many other ways to find out whether its true or false, but my judgment is true.

My day at Lake City Way studio job site

TOKTWD 2023

What did I do?

As of 7:30, work starts, I would be with my dad outside, he showed me around the site and he was teaching me what he does each day. I saw the map and safety precautions that he had in place, at around 12:30, we had lunch and then for a few hours, me and my dad went to his office, where he proceeded to look at emails. My dad leaves at 3:30 and it was a long yet rewarding day.

1. What did you hear, see, smell, and feel in the work environment on Nov. 1st?

On the job, I saw a dusty and a jobsite full of machinery, and I saw the start of the new studio. I smelt mostly dirt but mostly the fresh air. I felt mostly relaxed there as I and my dad were only supervising.

2. What about the environment would motivate you to wake up every day to attend work?

The thing that would motivate me to wake up is mostly that its outside and most of the time, I will be just supervising and doing paper work instead of hard labor.

3. What about the work environment would discourage you from waking up every day to attend work?

The only worst part is being outside in the cold weather and if it rains, I rather be inside doing paper work and having an inside job.

4. What is ONE thing you found interesting about your workplace visit?

What I found Interesting was that, people like my dad, they have to make sure that there is no problems and that being a superintendent required a lot of construction knowledge.

Lake city way, cinema studio.
