Art is something I have been doing for a long time.
I have been drawing and painting since I could hold a pencil, and I’m always looking for ways to improve my art abilities, I’ve chosen to do my research today on what the best way to improve in art might be.
Throughout my experiences with art classes and personal endeavors, I haven’t found a way to improve my art efficiently and strategically. Of course, there is the saying “Practice makes Perfect”, but what form of practice is the best? I found two articles on EBSCO about art that I chose to source, one talked about constant and continuous work on finished illustrations while the other focused on sketches and observations on a less scheduled timeline.
Both documents have important points to improving art abilities and learning. The first source, which talked about finished illustrations, suggested re-creating media that already existed, as a form of study, continuously taking ten minutes of class time to work on the same piece. The other focused on a slower, more relaxed walk through a neighborhood to find imagery and snapshots you would like to analyze in colour, composition, and shape.
These two sources demonstrate useful and genuine forms of learning and improving art, yet they take different amounts of concentration and dedication. So, while both are effective, I would suggest one or the other for different purposes. The first for subjects like humans or animals, with complex forms and anatomy to learn, and the second for scenery and composition, as it already states since it focuses more on colours and expressiveness of the finished piece after a sketch to understand.
In conclusion, there are many ways to learn and improve your art, and I have still yet to find one that I prefer.
I really love your word choice in this article!
