I think that my digital knowledge has improved significantly throughout this year which has increased my capability to search for reliable online sources. The tasks given by DL, have highlighted the importance of detecting whether a website is trusted or not, which is a very important aspect considering the youths everyday usage of online sources whether it is for entertainment or school purposes. For example, the Digital Learning assignment Break The Fake helped me develop the strength to use verification websites in order to support my sources and turn in a valid piece of work. in conclusion, this course has strengthened my digital skills to recognize false information sources.

The Burning Eiffel Tower

In this Twitter article, I saw the Eiffel Tower on fire. It was an extremely realistic photo but it caused doubts.

I then checked the Twitter account and saw that it was verified but did not look like a trustworthy source.

For the next step, I searched the account on Wikipedia and there were no results.

I decided to check Snopes.com for the article.

Snopes also did not provide me with any information. Yet, i decided to check with another source before searching google. so I searched on FactCheck.Org.

At last, i decided to search the article on google with word “Hoax”.

In conclusion, the Eiffel Tower on fire was false news.

for my subject topic, I chose Iran. in the assignment, I talked about the Iranian Revolution, conflicts, and history. Moreover, I specifically talked about the reign of the Islamic Republic in the year 1979. For the conflicts, I chose to write about the Persian leopard extinction and Women Life Freedom protest. However, I also chose to write about a bit of history covering the background of Iran.

Take Your Kids To Work Day

On Take Your Kids to Work Day, I went to my family-owned business at Henderson Mall with my mom and my grandmother. I spent the day helping customers who entered, and I assisted them with their needs. I sold three items which consisted of a Hat, a Bag, and a beautiful hand-made wallet from Iran. I also learned how to alternate certain types of clothing to a customer’s needs from my grandmother who has been sewing since she was twelve years old!

On November 1, I heard lots of mechanical sounds, I smelt fabric, and I felt string, fabric, and sewing machines. Something about my work environment that would motivate me to attend work every day is the colorful range of items in the store. Also, all the sewing projects and how you can make something amazing from just one piece of fabric. If the environment of the workplace were unorganized and dirty, that would discourage me from attending work every day. One thing I found interesting about my workplace was the variety of alterations that can be made to clothing.
