Core Competencies

In my Law class I feel that my communication skills have improved. By finishing multiple presentations I feel I have improved certain areas of presenting even if I still need to Improve Balance Between different areas of presenting I have improved a lot over many years. After this ecperience I also have improved on making longer presentations. Before this class I could not make an appealing presentation, I can still do better and will continue to improve.

Over the past year I’ve grown the most in the competency of critical thinking. I used to not try very hard in my classes and I could not balance my classes because I was unable to focus on a task that I was given and I just put it off. But over the past semester I have learned to improve my critical thinking and because of this I was able to develop methods of gaining focus and completing assignments earlier than I need to so I do not need to do them all at one time.

Core Competencies Self Assessment

Core Competencies

The core competencies I have chosen are Critical Thinking and Communication. When I first arrived at Charles Best secondary, I was not prepared for the difficulty of work and projects. At first, I was very shy and did not want to ask questions, which ultimately made everything harder. Since then, I have learned how to try and figure things out on my own without having to ask questions first and my Problem solving has improved in the past years as the teaching is also much better most of the time and other not so much. Presentations are still not fun but not as difficult as before, My presentation crafting skills are much better than in grade 8, the quantity and quality improve with every year and if I try harder it will continue to improve.

How lego was invented

LEGO is a popular toy brand that was created by a Danish carpenter named Ole Kirk Christiansen in 1932. The name “LEGO” comes from the Danish words “leg godt,” which means “play well.” In the beginning, LEGO made wooden toys like yo-yos and building blocks. Then, in 1949, they introduced their first plastic building bricks that could interlock with each other. These bricks were special because they had little studs and tubes that allowed them to connect in different ways. The clutch power of LEGO bricks means that they can stick together tightly but can also be easily separated. Throughout the years, LEGO has added many different themes to their products, such as space, cities, castles, pirates, and more. People of all ages love to build and create with LEGO bricks because they can use their imagination and have fun.

TOKTWD assignment

Hi, my name is Lukas. Today I visited my dad’s workplace, he works from home as a business consultant. While my dad is working, I hear typing on a keyboard as he provides support. Then I hear the ringing of a phone and my dad talking to a client. I see monitors, notebooks, speakers, a computer, standing desk and a phone for talking and taking notes. At lunchtime I smell food like hot dogs and salad. I feel really bored at this workplace because its just about staying home and talking to people all day. I would be motivated because I would be earning money and I would get free time after I am done with the work to do things I want. The things that would discourage me from doing this job and going to the workplace are talking to people and doing paperwork. A job that I would enjoy would be a video game concept artist or a game tester because those are things I enjoy doing.
