self reflection of core competencies

This school year I had lots of successful accomplishments I was proud of, which all show a part of the core competencies.  An accomplishment I am extremely proud of is the social studies composition I completed. I am very proud of this composition because I got an outstanding grade, and I researched my topic intensely a month before the composition. To tell the truth, I enjoyed writing it. I feel as though this composition showed my critical thinking. I was not allowed to use any internet sources while writing it and no grammar checkers either. I needed to analyze and make sure my French grammar was correct, develop three paragraphs, and investigate to make sure my material was correct.

Another accomplishment I have made this year is I have gotten stronger. I play high-level volleyball, and I realized that if I don’t start getting stronger, I cannot better my skills and will eventually not be able to play at such a high level anymore. So, I started going to the gym and doing things such as Romanian split squats, leg extensions, arm extensions, and more. This shows my personal responsibility very well because, without the self-dedication I have, I could not have gotten to the strength I have now. I unfortunately don’t have any photo evidence for this achievement, but I can lift much heavier weights than I could before.

In Communications 9, I had to present a presentation called a pecha kucha. This project represented my communication skills very well because I had to present it in front of my whole class, I needed to plan out how I was going to present it and in what order I would do it in, and I needed to acquire the information and needed to fact check to make sure all the sources I used were correct. Pecha kucha is a very difficult presenting style to perfect, but I feel I did well as took multiple weeks to prepare for it.
