Core Competencies Grade 11

In Physics 11, I made a mouse trap project, which demonstrated critical and creative thinking, because during this project there was a lot of troubleshooting and figuring out what works and what doesn’t. Our first car didn’t even move, it just jumped. The second wasn’t moving at all at first, but then we had to take a closer look and we found out the issue, which was the fact that the rod was too long. Finally, in our final design, it moves the furthest and the smoothest than all the other designs. As my skills in physics improved, our mousetrap car improved as well. My critical thinking skills got better throughout this project. It also helped with creativity, because we had to develop ideas and put the designs together.

In addition, in my own personal life, I demonstrated personal awareness and responsibility because I had a sort of wake up call, realizing that I’m stretching myself too thin, so I had to look at all of the activities that I had and I had to cut some. This helped me to be less stressed, leading to better well-being.
