Air Pollution

  • The release of gases or particles into the atmosphere faster than the environment can naturally dissipate and dilute or absorb them is called air pollution. Such substances may cause undesirable health, economic, or aesthetic effects.
  • The types of air pollution
  • 1 Land pollution. Land can become polluted by household garbage and by industrial waste.
  • 2 Water pollution.
  • 3 Air pollution.
  • 4 Noise pollution.
  • 5 Light pollution.
  • Aside from wildfires, common natural causes of air pollution include volcanoes, dust storms, methane gas from cattle and other ruminants, and radon gas from underground radium deposits. These tend to be limited to certain locations and time periods, although some can be widespread or chronic.
  • The study showed that 78 percent of the extractable organic matter, or hydrocarbon, was generated from wood stoves and fireplaces. However, the smoke accounted for only 58 percent of the air’s mutagenicity. Pollution from motor vehicle exhaust was three times as mutagenic as wood smoke, the researchers report in the August ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY.

Environmental Health Science and Research Bureau found that patients who had been exposed to carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter were more likely to visit emergency rooms for substance use disorders.

According to the news reporters, the research concluded: “The results indicate that urban air pollution may have an impact on the abuse of psychoactive substances.”

Break the Fake II

Hi everyone!  so as I was scrolling through google recently, a article popped up about a 4 day week is coming  inside the article  Joe O’Connor, director of the Work Time Reduction Center of Excellence in Toronto, explains that  this week on Down to Business, he also  explains why some companies are adopting the four-day workweek .  on Financial post by by Gabriel Friedman 3 hours  I want to check if this video/news is true or not  From there I did some digging.

Here is the article I saw

Here I also found video where Nathan Janzen ASST.CHEIF ECONOMIST ROYAL BANK OF CANADA says about Labour shortages giving workers more bargaining power.

Step 1: I checked the source of this video (who posted this video?)

I wet through twitter and found a news from Narcity Canada saying This Toronto based company is trying out A 4 day work week to invest in employee happiness

Step 2: I checked MSN News (The article website, which included the video) on Wikipedia to see if it’s a reliable source.

I can see that it has been founded in August 24, 1995,  and there is no information on it having fake news. The Microsoft Network was initially a subscription-based dial-up online service that later became an Internet service provider named MSN Dial-up. At the same time, the company launched a new web portal named Microsoft Internet Start and set it as the first default home page of Internet Explorer, its web browser. In 1998, Microsoft renamed and moved this web portal to the domain name www.msn.com, where it has remained.

Step 3: I tried to use Snopes.com to fact-check, but since it’s a recent news, it has not been put onto the website yet.

Step 4: I searched on google to see if there are more websites posting about this story.

There are many other websites that are talking about this, and these websites, according to further search with Wikipedia are all trustable websites, so it is most likely that this video and story is true.

So in conclusion, this article of a four day week in Toronto  is true. Although the person who posted the article and the video   isn’t fully reliable, the video and article  is confirmed to be real as MSN News  and many reliable websites say that it is  happing .
