1. Connecting Core Competencies
PE 9 is a course that requires all the core competencies to succeed. Communication is needed in a team sport. Thinking is required to calculate what is needed to beat the opponent. In Personal and Social Responsibility, it is essential build relationships, include everybody and focus on self improvement.
For this assignment, I believe that Personal and Social Responsibility is the most crucial aspect. In this project, we are supposed to track our times for the Right, Right, Right and show our improvement. Every week we run, whether it be the RRR or the Waterline or any other run we do, we are continuously striving to improve our runs.
PSR teaches us about the constant challenge for self improvement and how important it is to persevere in any given situation.
2. Learning from Digital Tools
Canva is a great website that could be used as an alternative to PowerPoint. The website contains a wide variety of templates, which in my opinion look better than what PowerPoint generates. These templates also save plenty of time from having to design your own slides. Canva also has a background remover directly on there, removing the need to visit a background remover website. This website was kind of hard to use at first, because I’ve only used it once a year ago. I would use this website in the future, now that I know how to use it.
3. Application in Other Courses
Canva could be used in practically any course that requires you to present presentations, especially English. In English, you might need to write a book report and present it to the class. With Canva, you could easily create a presentation without much effort, letting you focus on the material featured on it, instead of the aesthetics. For another subject, Socials, if you have to make a Newspaper, there is a template for that, allowing you to skip having to dye the paper, drawing and writing the text. In French, we are doing a project on Francophone countries. I picked France, so I could pick a template that is filled with French monuments and flags and use it in my presentation.
