How has your awareness of Coast Salish Art in our community changed? Be specific and give at least one example.

My awareness of Coast Salish Art in our community has grown because of how each animal has a symbol to the culture. At first, I didn’t realise the shapes that created the art really brings out different perspectives and creativity. Creating this owl was a fun and educational experience where I learned more of the Coast Salish Art and the community. Each shape represents something with a meaning, the placements also mean something such as circles can show that’s where a connection of the body and legs meet or the leg and the foot. I now understand each unique Coast Salish Art and the artist’s.
