On Instagram, you can find a post of giant crocheted cats captioned to be made by and 80 year old grandma. In this post I’ll be finding out if this is real or a hoax.
~ First of all, thehorrorgallery, which is the username of the account that posted this isn’t one that is verified (has a checkmark) or findable on wikipedia.
~ Secondly, I downloaded the image and uploaded it into TinEye.com and based on the images that showed up, that was the original version of the image. 
~ Next, I went and did a search on snopes.com where they had an article stating that this photo was in fact fake and was actually generated using AI. This is backed up by the fact that in the photos, the women’s body parts don’t always look proportional and they seem to have different faces.
~ Then, I did a search on google for “giant crocheted cats”. There were only two news articles that came up mentioning the same cats I was talking about. One of them was from scopes.com, and the other was a business magazine named Forbes, which after a google search was described as in the middle category of bias and reliability. However, both of these two articles stated that these crocheted cats were a creation of artificial intelligence.
~ Finally, I found the instagram account of the person who was the first to upload and also the creator of the image, ai.artandcat who later on posted about how she never claimed that they were in fact real crochet cats. 
~ In conclusion, these photos of the 80 year old grandma crocheting all of these giant cats is in fact a hoax and they were all creations of artificial intelligence.
