How has your awareness of Coast Salish Art in our community changed?

Recently, my awareness of Coast Salish art in our community had changed a lot. I feel that I now have a deeper understanding of what it is and why it is created in a certain way. After learning about the symbols and what they represent, I realized that each design, animal, and shape has a deeper meaning. For example ravens, like the one I created a Coast Salish art piece of, represent knowledge and wisdom. Every shape on the art is strategically placed to represent something, like feathers, eyes, or a beak. Overall, my deeper understanding of Coast Salish art has helped me recognize the thought and connection put into every piece.
