Break the Fake – viral video clip claiming Perseverance Rover footage from Mars

  1. This is what I found on Twitter. I’m going to see if this is a real video sent by the Perseverance rover.

2. I went to the source, “Anonymous” group but its Twitter account didn’t have a blue check mark.

3. I did a search on Wikipedia on the Anonymous group and found out that it’s a hacker group known for its various cyber attacks against government agencies. So, I knew that I couldn’t trust anything from this organization.

4. I also used Snopes.com to see if the video was real. I was able to find out that the image was made by the Mars Curiosity Rover in March 2020. So, the video was fake.

5. Finally, I wanted to double-check other reliable sources about this video. In conclusion, the viral video was fake.
