How has your awareness of Coast Salish Art in our community changed? Be specific and give at least one example. 

Before, I had never noticed how diverse and specific yet unique art styles from different Indigenous communities like the Coast Salish could be before. Our recent DL session during I-Week helped me view indigenous art from a different perspective, realizing it is not simply random shapes but forms of meaning, depth, and symbolism. Like all art, it is an expression of one’s emotions, beliefs and views but what’s different about Coast Salish Art is that it is a celebration ti nature, life, and connection to the land.
