Welcome to my blog! My name is Habiba and I’m a high school student. I’m a bookworm and history lover. I also love travelling, animals and writing. On this blog, I’m going to share my high school experience as well as what I’ve learned. I will also be sharing my interests, hobbies, my goals and plans, plus other things about me 🙂

My favourite quotes:

I have two favourite quotes, both from Anne of Green Gables (the books, not the TV show).

My first quote is “I’ve done my best, and I begin to understand what is meant by the ‘joy of the strife’. Next to trying and winning, the best thing is trying and failing.” I think this is important because it tells us never to give up. If you try and win, that’s amazing – but if you try and fail, you learn from it and can do better next time. And besides, ones best success comes after their greatest disappointments.

My other favourite quote is “It’s not what the world holds for you, it’s what you bring to it.” This one reminds me that everyone can bring something important into the world. You might not become famous because of it, but in some way, we all touch each other’s lives. Doctors save and help people – they do that every day – but I’m sure anyone who was healed by a doctor appreciates them very much. Teachers…teach, but some people have a teacher that helped them in a way no other could. Yes, the world might hold something for you, but that isn’t the most important thing. The most important thing is helping other people, and the world.

My favourite video:

I didn’t specifically choose this video, but I like try not to laugh challenges – sometimes the videos aren’t that funny, but when they are, they’re hilarious. I especially love watching them with my family and laugh with them.

A picture that impacted me:

An image that has impacted me is this photo from 9/11. I think it’s important to remember that no matter what we do, anything that can be made can be destroyed. I know this isn’t how most people take 9/11 – I know it was a terrorist attack that caused a lot of hate for people, even those that didn’t deserve it, and I: know that it killed and injured a lot of people. But I also think my meaning can be applied to the other, more literal meanings. People place a lot of trust in others and that trust takes time to make, but it can also be destroyed in an instant.

My favourite website:

It isn’t really a website, but I really like Instagram (well, there’s Instagram .com, so…) I can find a lot of stuff on there – from humor to things I can use in real life; I can also find and follow my friends and book accounts so I can find recommendations for things to read. I also follow a couple of news accounts so I can stay up to date about things.
