How has your awareness of Coast Salish Art in 
our community changed? Be specific and give at least one example.
On take your kid to work day I went to my mom’s work, Beck Robinson, we went to Starbucks, a sandwich shop, and we went to get my blood checked out. While I was working in the office I was helping organize cheques and I was doing trust cheques, and I helped put away paper and taking paper out of photocopiers.
In the office, I hear the phones, keyboards, and all the employees talking. I see a false creek and a bunch of buildings made of glass. I smell paper and people’s morning coffee. I feel a warm and cozy sensation as if it was Christmas break.
The office feels like you are always learning something, even while your working, which is a good thing because in people’s everyday lives everyone learns something new everyday.
The drive to work is very long and can be quite annoying dealing with all the traffic you have to face, it is also a busy area and there are lots of people out on the streets.
I found it interesting that the people that work here can get so much work done in such a short period of time, depending on how long they stay for they can do more work and get ahead of the curb.
Connecting Core Competencies
I feel like creative thinking was the best core competency that connects with my Sway project because I had to first analyze how I could make the project the best and then had my friends and myself critique my work to make it the best I can. I also had to question what I was going to work on and investigate it as well. After I was done that I started developing and creating ideas so I could work appropriately and quickly so I didn’t get any homework.
Learning from Digital Tools
Some benefits from using this tool was that you have a very wide range in designing how you want it to be designed, this could be by the font, how the page is set up, or even how your pictures look. One challenge about it was that it takes a very long time to see how you want to design it because the one way you want to design it could be at the bottom of the page and it takes a very long time to find out which one you want. It is also very different then some other platforms so it is almost a new thing to everyone and I think it would be good if we had a tutorial on how to use it.
Application in Other Courses
In every single subject this app would look very good because if you ever had a presentation you needed to present it would look better then a power point presentation and you could make it more reactive and creative. You can design how you can write it and where you want to put the writing instead of writing in one square/slide which looks boring.
