How has your awareness of Coast Salish Art in our community changed?

After doing this assignment I have been able to see how Coast Salish peoples interpret their surroundings/emotions through different shapes and animals. Where the shapes are placed on the animal are intentional and they all hold some sort of meaning. I used the circle for the eye in my drawing, but i understand now that the shapes do not always have to be in the same place for every animal. By having room to make each drawing personal and subjective to how you perceive your animal makes the Coast Salish communities art so unique, and interesting.
