Think before you comment: In a face-to-face conversation, what you say is not captured for everyone to see later. However, your remarks can stay online for a long time and anybody can view them. Before you type, think about what you’re saying

Be polite: You should not swear or insult others. If you do, they may delete your comment or ban you from commenting.

Only write something you would say in person: When writing, it is important to remember that the reader will not be able to see your face. Therefore, you should avoid using personal pronouns such as I, me, my, or mine.

Say something meaningful: What you write should contribute to the discussion. A comment should encourage others to think about what they’re reading, make them feel good, and/or connect them to something else.
