core competency 10 reflection

I picked Creative Thinking as mine. a time I used creative thinking recently was when I was planning out my car. I had to design my livery and what I wanted to add to the car. another time I used creative thinking was in my English class when we wrote scary stories. I put a lot of effort into making mine very original and unique. I plan to become a director when I’m older so my whole life would be based around being creative, and I’m currently an actor and I’m working on expanding my range of roles.

My Project Reflection

The project I made that I’m the most proud of was my News Paper in social studies. Something stood out when making this project that made it different then most of my other projects. I feel like I have a very creative mind and something about designing things like this was really fun for me. I think this project demonstrates strengths and growths in the thinking competency because it shows my creative thinking with designing projects. I have gotten better at my layout skills and attractiveness with my designing, but I know that I’m still growing and getting better with every project that I do.

After I did finished this project I printed it out and aged the sheet for that old timey look.

My First Nations art

This project has taught me about what all the different shapes mean and why they are significant to the first nations people.

before this project I thought that the shapes were just for looks and design but now I really know the meaning behind them. how circles usually show the core or the joints.

This project also showed me the core meanings of these animals. I picked the bald eagle because it shows power, strength, and authority, and those are all things I feel are very important to have.

Block 4 assignment

My Block 4 assignment was the Halloween Devils den.

#1. I think my assignment fits the core competence critical thinking because of how I made my poster very eye catching and how I worked over trial and error to come up with the perfect poster for the Halloween devils den.

#2. I learned how easy it is to use Canva and how helpful it is to make posters and info sheets.

#3. I used Canva to make a project for English where I had to make a right up and mix it with pictures and with the help of Canva I was able to make it look perfect.

Take your kids to work day

For take your kid to work day learned what it was like to work from home with my mom Sandra. She works for a company named Ava, basically they make the medical data charts software for clinics and hospitals. For most of the time she would be on video calls with ither other clinics or new workers that she would teach around ext.

The whole working from home factor is very nice as well. I would be way more interested in working somewhere I don’t need to drive to every morning and use a lot of gas to get to, this way it is way cheaper and easier to get started in the morning and you also wouldn’t feel rushed.

1. What did you hear, see, smell, and feel in the work environment on Nov. 6th? Use details

A vast majority of her job from what I saw was many meetings with other clinics or new workers that she would be teaching about how to do this and where to find that. She does around 5-12 meetings a day and these meetings would go on for around an hour or so.

2. What about the environment would motivate you to wake up every day to attend work? Why?

The fact that it is from home makes it way easier to get out of bed and get right to work. It saves time and it saves money, it seems a lot easier than other jobs where your daily commute is almost an hour. To sum it up, I would be motivated to wake up in the morning because my job would literally be in the room over.

3. What about the work environment would discourage you from waking up every day to attend work? Why?

From what I know there is a lot of video calling involved and from what my mom says some of those people can be a bit annoying to deal with, so I feel that at about 9 in the morning trying to explain something to a very annoying person everyday would be a little tiring and would have a big dip in my mental health.

4. What is ONE thing you found interesting about your workplace visit? Why?

How many video calls she goes through in a day. Talking that long with so many people so early in the morning feels like it would be extremely exhausting and I’m not sure that would be super easy for me personally which is why it surprised me that that is what she does almost all day
