Why did I chose this article? –
I chose this article because I’d heard of it some time ago and I found it interesting that a cat possibly tried to emulate someone like this.

What is it about? –
This article is about a cat, who we’ll call Julie, that when seeing people give money to a store in exchange for money proceeded to emulate the transaction.
“Seeing people come to buy fish and handing the owner money, this cat went out and got a leaf to pay for her fish.”

What did I do to check this? –
I first went to Tineye as there is one particular image always used when this idea is talked about.

Once I checked it on Tineye the first of the two links I checked led to a imgur post labeled “He Likes to Hunt Leaves” posted on November 24th, 2014. So the article in question labels Julie as a female, when in the original post he is labeled as a male.

Some time later a second post with the same name and photo is posted on reddit. The reddit post is linked to the original post on imgur and we can assume that it likely was posted by the same person as the first.

These two sites give the original story that this specific cat in the picture used is just a cat who liked to collect leaves for his owner.
The story is probably false.
